The story of Apapacho Group is a tale of friendship that began many years ago when Emilio Morayta, Javier Hernandez Pons, Alejandro Marin and Jorge Salim Vilches were in high school together in Mexico City. It all started with a dream of opening a terrace restaurant in their hometown at a time when rooftop settings weren't prevalent. In 2018 Grupo Palmares was officially formed (and later renamed to Apapacho Group meaning to pamper and chosen as a means of expressing hospitality). Collectively, Apapacho Group brings decades of experience working in the kitchens of Jean-Georges (NYC), Pujol (Mexico City) and operations at Savannah Restaurant (Mexico City). Currently, Apapacho Group oversees five restaurants in the US and Mexico City including Palmares Azotea, Terraza Cha Cha Chá, LA Cha Cha Chá, Loreto and Maizano. Apapacho Group is the result of a shared vision to put meaning to the term Apapacho, an opportunity to showcase food and beverage in a relaxed and lively manner, and most of all, to have fun along the way.
